Social Media for Trade Show Marketing? Oh Really??

Using Social Marketing for Your Trade Shows

There’s a lot to say about new social marketing techniques that can easily apply to pre and post-event Trade Show marketing.

Some of the social marketing sites are well suited to business marketing concepts.

Here are some suggestions that will take some of the mystique out of which sites to concentrate on and how to take advantage of this relative newcomer to business marketing,

Build a List – just like you would build a list for your email campaigns, build a list of people that you want to contact. Send them an email announcing your “New Concept” in client contact and direct them to the social network that you have chosen.  Invite them to join so that you can maintain intimate contact with them.

Call to Action – Give your list a reason to join you – run specials on product or services that will be exclusive to members.  Give your list an inducement to both sign up and to stay on your list.

Work Your List – you’ll be surprised at how your list will grow in a relatively short time.  Word-of-mouth marketing is now “Viral Marketing”.  If you provide value on the entries you send out to your list, you’ll be surprised at how the word will travel and how many new referral members you will accumulate.

Using Social Marketing presents a viable alternative to more traditional electronic marketing.  Particularly if you mix up your social media.  For instance, maintaining contact on two networks is good.  Maintaining on three is even better and mixing the networks is better still.

For instance, mixing LinkedIn with a presence on Ecademy or Facebook, and another on Twitter will definitely drive traffic to you.

Next – more on what the top sites are and the audiences each will draw for you.
